Tip: Easy to Make Gift Tags for Baked Goods
If you are looking for an easy way to make gift tags, then I’ve got just the thing for you:
Use business cards that you can print using your computer and printer!
I make gift tags for everything---even if I am simply taking a loaf of bread to a friend’s house when I’m invited for dinner! I buy business cards in various colors and types of paper (plain white, vellum, card stock that has sparkles in it, etc.) from my local office supply store. You can also find business cards at stores like Wal-Mart and Target.
I use the software I have for making greeting cards (I use Hallmark Greeting Cards). Depending on the gift that I’m giving, who I’m giving it to, holiday, or season, I find a graphic that fits the situation. Then I add text like “From My Oven To Your Table” or “Baked With Love Just For You!” I play with font styles and colors, and get as creative or plain as I like to create a gift tag that is just right for the occasion. You can easily use the template for business cards in your word-processing software (such as Word) to create gift tags as well.
For holidays, I design an overall gift tag design, but only insert a little text (and sometimes none at all). By leaving some blank space on the card, I can handwrite a special note for each gift I give. When you are ready to put the gift tag on your gift, simply use a hole-punch and punch a hole in the upper left corner (or wherever it suits you). You can loop ribbon or string through the hole and tie the tag onto your gift.
I keep a supply of gift tags that I use for my Sourdough Bread so that I can just grab a loaf out of the freezer, tie on a tag, and have a gift ready in no time!
Even when I take a loaf of bread that is only in a plastic bag, I use a gift tag and loop some curl ribbon through it to tie it onto the bag. Just enough to pretty it up a bit---and to let the recipient know that you cared enough to take a little extra time to do so.

This gift tag is ready to print on any sheet of business cards (10 to a sheet) that is Avery #8376 compatible (so look for store brands, usually cheaper than actual Avery products).
